Michele is a proud founding member of Los Artistas del Barrio Buffalo. She helped create a space where local Latino/a/x artists and performers can share their work and collaborate creatively.
A street photographer at heart, Michele uses her lens to explore the spirit, psyche, and emotional landscape of her subjects. Her desire to share intimate stories drives her practice. She also works across printmaking, collage, and mixed media, deepening her connection to themes of diversity, environment, family, and community.
Michele has exhibited her work throughout the Buffalo/Niagara region and is recognized as an award-winning artist and arts advocate. She has served the Buffalo Public Schools since 1994, first as a visual arts teacher and now as the district’s Director of Arts. She earned her doctorate in educational administration with a focus on leadership and policy, ensuring that all Buffalo youth receive an exceptional arts education.
Michele remains an active presence in the Buffalo arts scene and Latino/a/x community, dedicated to supporting young people through education, community, and the arts.
